Meet Melissa
Every once in a while, someone walks into your office and you just know — this is going to be a great fit.
Melissa Bouseman joined the Care Chiropractic team on November 25, 2025, and from the very beginning, all signs pointed to “something special.” After a back-and-forth text conversation with Jolene, it was clear Melissa had a warmth and personality that stood out immediately. The next step was to have her come in and shadow Renee and Christina for a few hours.
It didn’t take long.
By the end of that shadow, the feedback was unanimous and enthusiastic. Christina’s response: “I LOVE her!” Renee’s: “She is amazing!”
At that point, the decision practically made itself — Melissa was officially part of the team.
Melissa came to us with some chiropractic experience, though there were a few things she hadn’t been exposed to at her previous office. That turned out to be a complete non-issue. Melissa is an incredibly fast learner and quickly mastered our procedures, including Chiropractic SoftWave therapy, and developed a talent for taking detailed and thoughtful patient notes.
But what really sets Melissa apart isn’t just what she does — it’s how she makes people feel.
After spending over 20 years as a dedicated stay-at-home mom raising her two sons, Preston and Quinton, Melissa brings a natural sense of care, patience, and compassion into everything she does. Patients immediately feel comfortable around her, and it doesn’t take long before conversations start flowing and smiles follow. She has a way of making people feel genuinely cared for — like they’re not just patients, but people who matter.
Melissa has also become an incredible team player, always looking for ways to help — whether it’s supporting patients, assisting Dr. Sean and Dr. Casey, or stepping in wherever she’s needed. And if there happens to be a quiet moment… well, that usually doesn’t last long.
Because Melissa likes to clean.
And not just a little. If you turn your back for a moment, there’s a good chance she’s already dusting, organizing, or vacuuming something. You do have to be a little careful though — if you stand still too long, you might accidentally get vacuumed up yourself. It’s all part of what keeps the office looking as good as it does.
And then there’s her creative side.
Melissa is our unofficial (and extremely talented) interior decorator. Around the holidays, she transforms the office into something truly special. From beautifully themed decorations to a Christmas setup that could rival something straight out of a magazine, patients genuinely look forward to seeing what she’ll come up with next. Let’s just say that during St. Patrick’s Day, the office had so much festive spirit that Dr. Sean was just one small step away from considering green beer. (He’s still thinking about it.)
Outside the office, Melissa has been married to her high school sweetheart, Tim, for 29 years. Before dedicating her time to raising her family, she proudly served in the United States Air Force, where both she and Tim were members of the Honor Guard. Their journey has taken them across several states including Illinois, Texas, Missouri, California, and Arizona before settling back in Iowa in 2023.
They have two sons, Preston and Quinton, both living in Arizona and engaged to be married — an exciting chapter for their growing family.
Melissa Family Life
At home, Melissa enjoys cooking, baking, gardening, making jewelry, and spending time with their two dogs, Maci and Harper, and their cat, Jack. She and Tim also enjoy antiquing, being outdoors, and working on home projects together.
And speaking of baking… Melissa is incredibly talented in the kitchen. Dr. Sean is a particularly big fan of her pies and homemade granola — purely for quality control purposes, of course. Someone has to make sure it’s up to standard.
One more thing worth mentioning: Melissa is a die-hard Minnesota Vikings fan. We’ve chosen to fully support her… while also gently reminding her that this level of loyalty builds character. A lot of character. Every season.
Melissa has quickly become an invaluable part of the Care Chiropractic family, and it’s hard to imagine the office without her. Her positivity, energy, creativity, and genuine care for others make her someone patients and team members alike truly appreciate. Simply put, Melissa brings heart, reliability, and a thoughtful touch to everything she does—every team needs a Melissa, and we’re lucky to have ours.
And if you really want to experience it for yourself, you might just have to stop in and see what Melissa has done with the office lately. Around here, the decorations change with the seasons — but the warm welcome never does.
